50 States: Alabama and Alaska

I have decided to start with the two boxes filled with cards from all 50 states! Some of the states do not have as many as others so I am going to combine a few. Arizona, California and Florida have a whole bunch. I will probably break them up into a few posts.

I am going to show the front and the back because I believe the back is just as interesting as the front! You can also sometimes see some cool stamps.

Postcard Storage

Here is how and where I store my postcards! It may not be the best spot, but it works for me. Currently, they are in my basement on an old desk. I have different boxes and binders to hold them all.

My green box came from Michael's craft store. Inside it, I put all the photo albums that hold the cards. Most of the ones in the albums are ones that I have purchased in travels or my dad has brought back. Some of them are also small lots I have bought from garage sales or auctions.

This album holds the cards that are larger than 4x6. They are jumbo, but not too big.

This tall album is to display my favorite cards from auctions and garage sales. Unfortunately, the slots are just a few millimeters too tiny for most of the cards and the slots ripped when I tried to get them in. I can't take it back because of the damage. Oh well, at least some fit.

These two boxes hold cards I got at an auction, someone put categorized them by all 50 states and some countries. From that auction I actually got a large part of my collection. I believe the person was a dealer/collector because several of the cards are in plastic covers and have pricings.

This box is my super awesome vintage holiday and creepy misc. box. My mom got this storage box for me. I can write labels on the little tabs to categorize the holidays.

Both of these binders are filled with postcards from art museums around the world. They are paintings the that the person who collected them obviously liked! They appeared to have traveled quite a bit.

This box is full of duplicate cards. They are mostly linen cards.Since there are so many of the same kind, I sometimes send them to my friends.

This drawer in the desk is where I put the super oversized cards. I want them to lay nice and flat.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I store my postcards!

Welcome

Hello there! Welcome to my blog about postcards! I consider myself an avid deltiologist and can't stop the hunt for more postcards! I get them from auctions, travels, and also friends and family. I have a HUGE collection and decided I want to start cataloging and sharing it. This will be a very large blog and I hope I will continue posting on a regular basis. I will also share my storage and ways I display my cards. I hope you enjoy!
